Italian laboratory for research on elastomers and certification of rubber products 

 

CERISIE is the Italian laboratory for research on elastomers and certification of rubber products. The laboratory was founded in 1974 by initiative of a pool of the major rubber industries active at the national level: is now owned by AIRIEL (the pool of the founding companies) and ASSOGOMMA, the Italian association of rubber industries. CERISIE is accredited according with ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories) and provides services for testing in the following areas:

- Testing of the compliance of rubber goods (e.g. components for the automotive sector, hoses, conveyor belts, etc.) to regulations and technical standards

- Testing and release of certificates of compliance for rubber and plastic parts for all the relevant regulations for food contact and pharmaceutical application

- Durability study and estimation of life-time and maximum temperature of service

- Compounding chemistry and optimization of compounds

- Failure analysis

For all the services above, the global number of tests available accounts for more than 300 and the Knowledge in the field is supported by the active participation of the laboratory’s personnel to CEN, ISO and national working groups (UNI) for the development technical standards.

CERISIE organizes courses and seminars for the training of personnel involved in the development and application of rubber products.

Supporting customers with consultancy services in all the major areas of the technology is also a commitment for the laboratory.
