Italian Rubber, cables, wires, and similar Manufacturers’ Association

Assogomma is the Association, Member of Confindustria, that represents the Italian rubber manufacturers. Born in 1945, in 2005 it founded and became member of Federazione Gomma Plastica, together with Unionplast - the Italian plastics Converters Association.

Assogomma Members

They are divided into:

- rubber manufacturers, such as tyres, self-adhesive tapes, hoses, technical goods, cables, semi-finished goods, shoes components, etc.

- suppliers of raw materials, machineries, technical instruments and services.

About 200 Firms, with about 25.000 workers, that represent more than 85% of the total sector

Mission

The Association represents the whole rubber sector towards:

- Trade Unions, in order to define the labor rubber contract.

- Local, National and European Authorities, representing rubber interest on specific topics, such as: economy, health and safety, environment, foodstuff/water contact, etc.

- Institutions and Associations, representing the supply chain and the final destination of the products.

Activities

Health, Safety and Environment: information and education on specific matters.

Norms and Standards: participation to national, European and international technical groups, concerning raw materials, semi-finished goods, articles and machineries.

Business: industrial property, foreign trade, competition rules, etc.

Economy: Research and analysis on economic data concerning production, import/export, raw materials, etc.

PR and Communication: Development and achievement of rubber industry’s plus, referring to specific represented products, through an institutional marketing activity.

Social: definition and interpretation of the rubber labour contract, social affairs, human resources, training.

Education: courses, technical conferences, seminars, symposia on specific rubber matters (technology, safety, health, environment, production, etc) and on general issues, customized for rubber (image, communication, quality, ect.).

 

Assogomma is also organized in product groups (tyres, hoses, self-adhesive tapes, compounds, etc) and in functional groups (EHS, foodstuffs and water applications, scraps/waste, etc.).
